Yes, because life is good and I don't want it to end. I want to see, do, learn, and experience it all!
I lost my dad this past summer to cancer. My family was with him almost 24/7 for the last 2 weeks of his life. Dying is awful, and dying slowly is horrible. I'm not so much afraid of death as I am pissed off at it. I think if I ever met the Grim Reaper in a dark alley, he'd better fear me!
FWIW, there are those out there who view death more as an engineering problem to be solved rather than as one of life's unavoidable sacred cows. Me, I'm hoping to live long enough for them to get that whole immortality thing down. :-)

Sadness is when you don't get what you want. If you want to live forever there are methods for that and it will take an extreme amount of effort on your part to achieve, but it is possible. If you want to learn how, Chi Gong is a good start. Death is not the end it is just change. I'm not going to prove it to you, you can learn yourself right this moment if you want to. There are ways to leave your body and experience death temporarily, at will. Read something written by Robert Monroe, that's a good start. I caution though, you might end up like me if you leave your body often enough. Sad to be alive since life is so much sweeter on the other side! Don't even get me started on just how much more beautiful it can be, on how constricting it is living in this skin.

The body will die but the spirit lives forever. My spirit will live forever in the place that my lord Jesus has prepared for me. This is by the grace of God.
No I have no sadness with the coming of death, but relief. For every man is appointed to die but once and after that judgment. In the Christ's judgment my faith in Him is strong enough for eternal peace. He has a place set aside for me.
God bless and take care.

You feel sad because you must leave people behind.
The alternative to dying would be horrendous, what would you be doing a quadrillion years from now or a quadrillion to the power of a quadrillion years?
