It's the apathy, my dear. Over 50% of Americans are very apathetic and they don't even vote. Imagine that. All the crap people went through to get poor people, women, and minorities to vote and a lot of them don't even exercise that right. I'm a proud voter.
Apathy has allowed the nutcases to take over because unfortunately, the nutcases are the only ones who really give a brick about what happens to this country.
And that's just...bad.

The majority of Americans are pretty much reduced to sheep ready and able to listen and obey the next wealthy, powerful leader or celebrity without so much as second thoughts. Some of them are so far gone, they call you a 'hater' or a nut if you tell them truths about what's really going on.
A serious revolution needs to happen or else we may as well continue to live on our knees. The only thing marching will accomplish is a reason to buy new shoes. We need to do a lot more than march or demonstrate. We have to make serious changes and bring them into existence by any means necessary.

That depends on your perspective. Rep, want oil, war and lobbyist money. Dems want to take hard working families money and give to people who arnt willing to work and raise your taxes. The only way this country gets right is if we get rid of the party system. No more Dems, no more Reps, and we just vote for the right person not the right party. But just like the bowl series in college football, there is too much money in the party system. I would like a better answer too!

I LOVE your question! So glad to see that there's an individual out there that is paying attention to American politics.
YES - They need to be called on their bullshit, their criminal acts, their lack of humanity, their LIES, their greed (one word - Haliburton). They have obviously lost their balls too.
I completely agree with you!!! I am sick to my stomach daily as the days go by and I cannot wait until the reign of terror ends (by the Bush Admin., not Iraqi's or Islamic terrorists) so we can turn the country back to where it should be and before we lose it by lying, outsourcing, and selling our American souls to make a friggin' buck!!!

I think when people want to maintain the status quo or obsessive about their ideology they fall into delusion and denial. It is pretty hard to be objective when we have strong feeling about political points of view.
"Rationalizations are a way of covering up the gap between reality and a person's conception of reality. The more their mind-generated world-view comes in conflict with reality, the more rationalizations are needed. At some point, they may even cross the imaginary line between denial and delusion."

Not all of us. There are many who protest Bush and his administration, unfortunately the rules don't seem to apply to him and his cronies.
