I watched the old NBA film and they didn' have 3 points line back in 60's or 70's. . ABA was the first professional league to use it back in early 70's.. I think NBA used it around late 70's but I want to know exact year and date.

On October 12, 1979, Chris Ford scored the NBA's first three-point shot, and Fred Brown led the league in three-point field goal percentage in that first season of adoption. The sport's international governing body, FIBA, introduced the three-point line in 1984.

Beginning the 1979-1980 season. Also the year Magic and Bird entered the league.
