Mirena is a non-hormonal IUD implant that is ideal for women that have already had children. It is 99.99% effective and can be left in place for up to 5 years. You can choose to have it removed at any time prior to 5 years and regain fertility immediately if you want more kids. You continue having normal periods, and in some cases makes it lighter, but does not make it go away. It only takes a few minutes for the Dr to insert, and after that requires no thought or instructions. Unlike having to remember to take pills or schedule shots. Tell her to go to their website for more info http://www.mirena.com/html/index.html, or ask her Dr for the infomational pamphlet.

Tell her to check out the 'sympto-thermal method'. There are classes all over the country by the 'Couple to Couple League'. This birth control method tracks your temperature and cervical mucus to determine when in your cycle it's safe to have intercourse and not be in danger of getting pregnant. Used properly, it's just as effective as any other form of birth control.

Nice to hear of a woman that doesn't want to harm her health with medical birth control.
I have collected a few articles about natural birth control.

She doesn't want to do the depo shot? That thing is heaven!

Don't use an IUD, I know more women who have had that fall out or got infections from it!

Look into the Ring, that's supposed to be comfortable and safe.

The implanon is very nice, I like it. They put it in for 3 years and then replace it.

Its basically a plastic rod, about 2 inches long, which they instert in your arm.

I love it.

But, you may actually loose your period, or it may become lighter, but its really low maintenance, which is the benifit.
