Oh by the way, Dell doesn't make hardware, they purchase it from the same manufacturers that all the other computer companies purchase from... like Seagate, Maxtor, Sony, Kensington, etc... just commenting on the other guys statement.
Happy Shopping!

Go to the nearest Apple store and take the Mac for a test drive and ask lots of questions.
TIP: If you are a Windows Gamer, stick with a Windows machine. If not, Mac may be better, based on YOUR specific needs. AND you can run Windows on a Mac!!!
The weight info is on the respective websites.

I've owned both. Macbook hands down. You're always looking at spending more with Mac, but you get better performance from a mac, and their product is all around better made. Hardware and software made by the same people, what a novel concept. Furthermore, with leopard you get time machine, allowing you to restore you computer to any state whenever you please at the click of a button, and boot camp, so your laptop can moonlight as a PC.

I'm not exactly a mac advocate, but don't buy a Dell laptop. I've seen so many of my friends' die from hardware failures. Dell sells them cheap because they're made really cheap!
