Popular names for dogs are Sam, Sammie or Samantha (which means "listener"). The second most popular is Max, Maxie, Maxwell or Maxine (which means "the greatest" in Latin). Third is Lady, followed by Bear, Maggie, Buddy, Tasha, Chelsea (or Chelsie), Holly and Shasta. Other very popular names are Brandy, Ginger and Taffy. Hope I was able to help. Good luck! ;)

Here are some names of our current and past pets.
Rip,Taz,Shasta,Bindie,Jackson,Sheba,Biscuit, Flash.

And my all time favorite, you have to remember I was probably 4 or so when I picked these names--My g-parents got me to Parakeets and I named them after my favorite cartoon character.
One was named Woody-Wood, the other Pecker--for woody-wood pecker...no kidding! I was 4, someone should have stopped me!

I name my dogs for some prominent physical characteristic. "Radar" had huge, upright ears, "Fatty-boy" ate until he looked about to burst and you can guess what "Pee-Wee" does.
