Try:
brown [ milk and dark chocolate shades ]
rust, peach [ for green ]
purples [ for yellow ]
teal blue, smoke blue
possibly charcoal gray?

Plum (purple) will bring out the green/yellow in your eyes. This works because purple is a "complimentary color" to yellow.

I'd avoid wearing brown eye makeup since it will do the opposite- it'll "tone down" or "downplay" the pretty green/yellow in your eyes.

I have hazel eyes too, and the way professionals make eyes pop is by using the opposite color that matches with your eye color on the color wheel. Try purple.

Try Almay's "Bring Out" and "Play Up" collections.

Go here: http://almay.com/pg/main/catcoleyeslips.aspx?catid=32&catnm=Eyes&subid=6&subnm=Hazel&col1=224&col2=225
And you can see all the products made for hazel eyes! I have the ones for blue eyes and I love them.

The best tip for eyeshadow: The goal of wearing eye make-up is to enhance/bring attention to your eyes. The rule of thumb is to wear the opposite color eye shadow of your eyes on the color wheel so that your eyes really stand out (POP!). For example, I have blue eyes and yellow is opposite blue, so I wear a lot of gold-toned eyeshadows. For you, you want purple.

You can brighten your eyes with shades like gold, apricot, plum, deep khaki or forest green.

Violet or purple liners make hazel eyes stand out green.

When getting dressed, make sure your clothing doesn't offset or clash with your eye makeup. Try wearing purple and green.
