I had braces for 5 years. You're right...it's a total drag. Not to mention that I had a quack for an orthodontist. I found out later that several of his patients had to sue to get him to finish or repair work he started right before he retired. If anyone needs or wants braces please do some investigating before choosing a doctor.

I did....and because of the work of the braces and the head gear, I ended up with TMJ. I'm going to multiple doctors to see if they can get rid of it without surgery or pain killers but all they can do is massage my jaw to ease the pain a bit. On top of that, my bottom teeth are beginning to go crooked again because my retainer got warped and the orthodontists took their sweet time fixing it. So by the time I finally got it back, it didn't fit.
One thing is for sure, I am never going to let my kids get braces or any form of orthodontic treatment.

Yeah I have them right now and they suck. Especially since i'm older than the normal age to get braces. I hate the way people just stare at your mouth. It drives me crazy.

I did and it was a drag, but it's nice that I can smile now without wondering whether people will notice that my teeth are sideways.

I HATED those things with a passion! I even had those rubber bands that made me look like something off Revenge of the Nerds! lol
