A friend and I done some work on my brakes several weeks ago. Not too long after this I was having some stuff checked out by my mechanic and they couldn't find that special piece that fits over one lugnut from each wheel in order to remove it. I've looked quite a bit for it and still can't seem to find it. Any ideas? My car may not be in urgent need of it, but it'd be good to know my tires are changeable if needed.

id look really hard for it and if you cant find it you can get a replacement set at a dealer or any parts store they also have a special made socket that will remove the old ones, you,ll probably find the old one somewhere, hope so anyway ,good luck with it.

Get one of the gadgets that takes out rusted, burred over nuts. It is basically a spiral machined socket that fits over and bites into the nut. If done carefully thee is not any real damage to the nut.
