I think the Beatles said it best:
All you need is love!

Violence is never the answer only the last resort. I personally try to reason with others if there is any situation that might get physical. I can bench press over 250 pounds, so I really would not like to loose my temper and seriously injure someone. I could not live with the image of hurting someone.

I'm sure that violence has consequences and it may in fact solve a situation in some cases, however, most of the time, violence results in net loss to everyone.
In game theory, this is a lose-lose scenario. Most often negotiation and communication can result in a win-win situation for interested parties.
Unfortunately, violence depicted on television results in higher viewership and profits for the networks.

Well.... what kind of violence???
My two-year-old would not sit in his car seat along the 2 hours to and from work (on Long Island, a very congested area, or I would never have subjected him to it).
So, I spanked him,
and he sat down,
and he was safe.
And then he got older, and spanking was not appropriate, but I would hit him like I was hit, so I hit myself really hard in the face, and I stopped.
And that solved the problem.
So yes, I think it works out-
AS a last resort.

Every instance of it saves us from the delusion that the world can ever be run in a sane and sensible way. And the sociologists say that world wars are merely large-scale echoes of personal conflicts between individuals.

When all other options are exhausted, sometimes violence is the only solution. It's sad, but true. So I guess it doesn't solve anything, but might perhaps REsolve something...

I use to get dumped on a lot at work for being gay. (I'm a carnie) One night after work us guys were having a few beers, and this real smart *** actually asked me if I liked it when guys farted. If I liked to sniff them. I beat the hell out of that guy, and I earned the respect of my crew. So, yeah, sometimes in certain situations it does!!! :@)

no, violence never solves anything...I used to be in an abusive relationship, and the violence became an endless cycle of guilt, shame, and hatred for myself.

No. The one time I was ever violent...
I still regret it to this day. It just makes you feel bad afterwards..and you know that the person didn't really deserve it.
Unless he was a rapist. ******* bastards.

Depends...if they are gonna hit you first then by hitting them first , violence has accomplished the goal of you not getting hit.
