yes the biggest fear was the boy down the street who would eat spiders and other bugs on a dare..i used to race around on my lime green bike throughout the neighborhood..we had a huge rock in the yard it was our dinosaur...we would literally play on that rock for 8 hours a day...i had the best time as a kid..then somewhere around the age of nine the world changed for me..but i loved the time before that...it was fun..

Yup. Not a worry in the world. I wish life was still like that.
By the way, I LOVE the episode of South Park the Cartman picture is from. It's too funny!

Free ? You couldn't stay out late or stay home all day without dealing with authority figures.
Anyone who wanted to beat you up,that was around your own age, could do so and not go to jail. You had to pass tests all the time, or people would yell at you. Hop in a car and get a beer or Big Mac? Case closed.

Yes we were and then we had to grow up. Childhood goes by way to fast.
PS I think that when we were kids we didn't realize how great being a kid really was.

Yes we were
free to go to bed by 8
free to be in before dark
Free to do dishes nightly
free to watch younger sibling
free to go to school
free to do homework
free to be grounded
free to run sweeper and do household chores
But I must admit it was fun.

Didn't someone tell you when to go to bed; what the rules were and the consequences for not following them; prepare a meal (without or regardless of your input) and tell you to come and eat; had to go where you were taken...When we were kids, we were kids...with supervison and guidance...Not much different than adulthood, I'd say.
