You're looking for things outside yourself to stimulate you and give you fulfillment. The problem with that is while there are many things 'out there' that can temporarily satisfy some need or desire, it's all temporary. And when it's gone your left craving for more satisfaction, more stimulation.
You need to find the kind of fulfillment that doesn't depend on anything temporary. And the only place where you'll find something like that is within you own heart/mind.

join the army and you will get to travel and never have to worry about a boring routine again. Of course, if that does not appeal to you..., you could try doing something to spice up your life like working with a volunteer fire department or something similar. Anything that would cause you to value your life a little more... After spending quite some time in the Army, every day I have roof over my head and a warm bed to lay in... is a very interesting and welcomed day. Try going 2 weeks without a bath, and a bath becomes very interesting as well.
What I am getting at is... well it seems you are taking these things for granted. If you are bored, consider yourself lucky. For many people around the world, living is an adventure full of drug lords, aids, pestilence, starvation... If your biggest problem is finding something to amuse you, then I think you will be OK.
I do not mean for this to be a bash in any way. I just hope you will look at things a little differently and enjoy them more.
I would also like to know how Jayasri devi dasi could know our purpose in life when we have not told her yet! She must be physic or something. bahhh!!!

As u say u want to travel but do not ve the privilege. I suggest u do inner journey if u r not able to do journey in the world. For inner journey just sit at a clean place, if near the plants well and good, quiet place, and look at the tip of ur nose. Keep on staring at the tip and u will find that within seconds ur eyes will close. Keep on observing ur breath, inhaling and exhaling normally. Start counting reverse from 100 to 0. While doing so u will be forgetting the count, then start again. In this process many thoughts will pop up, let them but keep ur aim at counting uninterrupted. Practice for 21 days and again come back to yahoo answers and share ur experience. Rest I will tell later on. This give u inner direction as to the purpose in ur life. All the best to u.

this Means you are more intelligent than the rest. You are more spiritually advanced, but you just havn't got the answers yet to begin you actual self realization. This is the turning point the most emportant time of your life. Not everyone has the intelligence to realize what you are realizing. We all have to come to the point you are at to realze our real self and actual happiness. Next we have to understand that we are not this material body, IE; Race, color, nationality, Religion, mind, intellect, senses, job, etc. We are all eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. We never die, only this mortal body dies.
This material world is not our real home, it is called Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery, only one fourth of the souls come here due to envying Gods position and the rest are enjoying blissful eternal loving relationships with our Maker named above. After many lifetimes of trying to be happy here we become bored and frustrated and question our existance. If one is sincere one is then led to the process of how to get out of the cluches of material nature. Those who are intelligent, take up the process of self realization (Bhakti Yoga) Which begins with the process of chanting the maha Mantra (the Great Mantra for delivereance from all suffering and illusion) which gives one real peace, happiness and reality. Then at the end of life one will give up all attachments here and they can return to the eternal Kingdom where there is no more birth, death, old age, or disease and be eternally happy.I am so Glad I found this out. I use to feel the same way you did. Now I know who I truly am and the purpose of life.
For info. Go to harekrishnatemple.com Read Bhagavad Gita- As it is by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada asitis.com you can read it on line. Are ya ready for this. It is an amazing journey. Or you can keep in limbo following the general populus (who are in complete illusion, thinking they are happy. But they will come back life after life until they come to this point. See the movie the Trueman Show with Jim Carry to get an Idea of what I mean. Don't delay.

Why don't you have the privilege of traveling?
I think you should travel. Save up a good chunk of cash. Go to Europe... Amsterdam or Prague maybe. Have a taxi drop you off in the middle of the city.
Then throw away your maps and language guidebooks.
I have a feeling you won't be so bored anymore. :)
If you want fun, life is there waiting for you. Make it happen. All it takes is a bit of fearlessnes and creativity... It is your responsibility to push your own limits and maximize your life...

It sounds like your boredom is mostly self-inflicted. Try hanging out with a different set of friends for a while, people who like doing things different from what you currently do with your present friends.
You definitely need a change of scenery. Some weekend, do something you normally don't. Go bowling. Find a nature preserve and go on a hike. Read a good book, there's tons out there. Boredom is not so much a lack of things to do as it is a lack of creativity in _finding_ something interesting to do. Maybe you just need to broaden your horizons a bit in order to see that there really are lots and lots of ways to enjoy life.

Because their ideals are not necessarily your own.
Experiment with what you find interesting is the only advice I can give you. That doesn't mean go crazy ace wild and end up with a VD (or an OD, if you're real unlucky), or maybe your interests don't even lean that way.
Keep your wits about you, but don't be afraid to experiment or just be crazy to stave off boredom.

We don't need to tell you what is fun. Fun is something you can find. If we told you you'd try but then give up right away because you said you don't see a real reason to partake them. Just think of what makes you happy.

find something that amuses you and do it. Go wild. But stay smart. If not smart already, then become smart. You need more imagination. Think deep. Where is that urge to do something crazy and fun? either that or help people out.

sounds like a depression with afternoon highs.
well you've come to the right section.
I usually turn to philosophy when I feel like that.
read and research lots of things to make me more sad :).
then go out and do some physical stuff, alone mostly (no time to cater for the feeling of friends when you need to sort out your own).
but idk, i suppose the wieghts at the gym and the jogging path become my companions. I usually go hard when I feel like that.
and its the strangest of things when its done. because its not that its done, but simply that you have become tired of feeling that way.
I dont know how to explain it.
but if someone tells you to go see a shrink. knock them out.
:)
