well because they now have 3 championships that get defended at wresltemania....wwe...whc...and ecw....whatever match has more of a draw merchandise wise and more of a high rated match usually main events...like cena vs hbk was a great match that shocked a lot of critics especially cenas.....

The winner of the Rumble still gets a shot at the title they want to go after. It might not be the last match at Wrestlemania but it is a title match at Wrestlemania.
So nothing really changed on that. Plus sometimes the WWE will have 2 or 3 matches that they call main event for Wrestlemania. Like a triple main event.

They do fight in the main event at wrestlemania. Now we have three titles for someone to compete after and they get to be in the main event for that title. WWE now has two or so main events, or so they call them. So the winner gets a title shot at one of them main events. Like Undertaker and Batista last year fought in the mach before last it was like the Smackdown main event.

The winner chooses who he gets the shot at it was "coincidence" taker chose the guy from his brand. remember he came on all 3 brands right before the raw family reunion and thts where he picked........ i cantwaitto see whos gonna win this year i rly hav no idea, HHH is heel now so i dont much want himto win it, even though i still respect himas a wrestler, HBK almost had his shot last year, Taker had his shot last year, kane isnt gettinmuch title attention, maybe jeff hes wanted a shot for a while, but then again theres probably gonna be lots of diff feuds and probably new champions again........... hopefully when cena comes back he gets the title again, but then Jericho doesnt get it and i like them both maybe theyll start a "friendly"feud between them or better say "respected" feud like how benoit and punk were gonna be but tragedys happen........... It should have been last year with The Undertaker VS Batista. But WWE wanted Cena and HBK as the main event. In My opinion, Undertaker Vs Batista was more amazing than the Cena Vs HBK. Hopefully they won't do it again.

the winner of the royal rumble fights for whatever title thats on the show he is on last years winner the undertaker fought for the title at wrestlemania and had the match of the night with batista. undertaker won keeping his undefeated record going at wrestlemania

okay i had to read the question a couple of times to get it but now that id o i think it is that whichever one has more of hype or the one that will sell most PPV and merchandise will be the main event

they do, there are 2 main events at WM ( i dont count WWECW ) the wwe title and WHC matches are considered the two main events
