Why have a pinata at a usual celebration- lots of the pinatas that are bought on the department stores around right here have a sticky label say 'no longer for toddlers decrease than 5 years of age' ! Plus toddlers that youthful don't have the coordination to hit the venture! Or are you making plans it for the mummy and dad to do? Pinatas are meant to be full of candy and small toys, i think you ought to fill it with small plush toys, yet that kinda defeats the purpose does not it?

No don't do it. Don't blind fold the dog, it is his or her job to see for the person. This doesn't mean that the dog will lead her to the pinata. This is a very unhealthy thing to do since the dog is trained to see and be by her side, even to protect. The dog is really not gonna help her win , and besides if it did, which I doubt, she's the star guest and would that be so bad for her to win?

No. She should simply tell her guide dog to remain by her seat when it's her turn at the pinata. Her dog will only do what she tells it to do, as long as it's in harness. If it's out of harness, then it will want to play like any other dog.
When guide dogs are in harness, they are working and should not be interfered with. That means people should avoid petting the dog or calling it by name--however, if this is a children's party, that isn't going to happen unless your friend is very firm. (g) Most kids love to pet dogs.
And, by the way, thank you for being considerate enough of your friend to ask this. :)

hehe thats cute. but im sure the dog might not like being blindfolded so probably for your safety, dont do it. i ran into a similar experience w/ one of my friends (she used a cane instead of a dog because she's alergic to pet dander). She asked us to blindfold her *shrugs*. So see if the person wants to be blindfolded instead. the dog, although well trained, may still bite you in defense.

No just let her do it without the seeing-eye dog. She's already blind, so that way it's fair.

I think it's fair for her to use the dog as long as she doesn't tell it, "Now bring me right to the pinata!"

ONLY if the dog understands the game. But etiquette says that you don't interact in any way with the dog. It's a service animal.

that is disgusting. but if you're serious, i'm pretty sure the dog will freak out when she/he sees her trying to bat a strange colorful thing hanging from the ceiling...
