I have a consistent 3.0-3.2 GPA. I am in the marching band, did jazz band all my life, scored a 28 on my ACT, haven't done the SAT yet, and have nothing to go off of besides that stuff. I want to get into a university like CSU or CU.. but I don't think I'm good enough. I'm really worried about my future. I'm a junior in high school and I'm feeling the pressure...

Colorado State University, sorry about confusing it with California.

Your ACT is pretty good, so you will definitely be able to get in somewhere. I'm assuming you are in Colorado, based upon your preferences, and I looked up both schools on the College Board's website. While your GPA is fairly low, you do have a chance of getting into both schools.

Well if you go to the closest CSU to your house you are pretty much guaranteed admissions with a 3.0 I live in long beach and know friends that got in with 2.8's and average SAT scores. However if you live out of a CSU's region it is harder to get into a different one like if you live out the long beach area you need like a 3.2 to get in. Also just to let you know the CSU system only takes into account classes you took GPA and test scores there is no where on the application to put extracurricular activities. But AP classes look good and get you out of dumb GE classes. But if you improve your GPA you have a good shot at the UC's especially if you do have a lot of extracurricular stuff. But really don't sweat it just keep your grades up and research the school and you can always go talk to your counselor at school or if you have a career center go there they know all about college application process

Hey, man your giving me the worries here too. I'm in my sophmore year now, and the 1st semester is going bad for me. Freshmen year was good with a 3.3 gpa, but now i'm getting a horrible 2.67. I'm working hard to get a 4.0 now. My advice is to concetrate, finish strong and to take the SAT.

All colleges care about are the ACTs/SATs, grade point, whether you can carry hard classes and keep activities, and whether you have alumni connections. That is all there is to it. If you have 3/4 of those, you should be fine.

CSU is low. You could easily get into UC. CSU takes the top 33.3% of your class, and your 3.2 falls snugly in that. With your extracurricular and ACT, you should shoot for UC.

you should be glad you're a junior. your act score will let you into the "public ivies," if you raise your GPA. they like improvement. go partake in some volunteering endeavor that has to do with music. join spanish honors society, haha

Don't worry about it. Maybe do some volunteer work somewhere, like an animal shelter or something. But what you have is good. Stay confident, and you should be fine. But always have back-ups.

Your G.P.A is not that low!! Check this out...there is a chart somewhere where it tells you the score you should aim for in the SAT according to your G.P.A. You have have extracurrucular activites...so you are fine!
