Bush released a statement saying:

"....Freeedoms of expression, assembly and press, as well as due process, are fundamental to any Democratic society."

"....I am particularily troubled by the use of force by law enforcement authorities to stop these peaceful activities and to prevent some journalists and human rights activists from covering them."

But if this happens in the U.S. it's OK????

Maybe the President should make sure this doesn't keep happening in the U.S. FIRST!

Bush stops demonstrations as much as he can. The only reason the U.S. under Bush isn't as bad as Russia is because there are laws that frequently can protect protesters from the Executive branch. But not always.

They just dropped the charges on protesters in my town. it happened at the St. patricks Day Parade. The police dragged a 60 year old woman across the pavement. No I don't think Bush knows or cares.

I wonder why Bush doesn't want Americans to have the freedoms he advocates for citizens of other countries?
