He was on late at night, on the PIttsburgh Channel. He hosted scary TV stories. I was on afternoon shift and I would come home and get my daughters from my Mom's house and we would stay up a couple of hours, and pop corn, and watch TV.
This would be Friday night the end of my week and the girls could sleep in the next morning. We would watch the Wolf Man with Lon Chaney and stuff like that.

I live about 50 miles from Pittsburgh, and I remember watching Chiller Theater when I was a little girl..then on saturday nights,..My dad would watch wrestling.. (Bruno Samartino) only sometimes,... because I was still in grade school, I would get to stay up and watch Chiller Theater. My mom didn't approve,..At that time.. the movies were pretty scary to me.. nothing like the horror movies now,. they were more innocent in a way. Things have definitely changes since then. Even though it scared me,. its still a nice memory.

Chilly Billy, as Cardille came to be known, also brought along a bizarre continuing cast of supporting characters: "Norman the Castle Keeper" (Norman Elder), "Stephen the Castle Prankster" (Steven Luncinski), statuesque zombie "Terminal Stare" (Donna Rae), and "Georgette the Fudge Maker" (Bonnie Sue Barney) — not to mention "Skeets Skeltino the Pizza Man," "Sister Suzie" (Joyce Sterling), "Beauregard C. Beauregard" (Ted James), and occasional celebrity guests like Phyllis Diller, Barbara (Get Smart) Feldon, and wrestler Bruno Sammartino.

On WHBQ in Tennessee we had "Sivad", a Dracula like host,
who introduced the movies on Friday night as you say.
We don't recognize these are simple pleasures until
we look back. Someday we may look back on our Y/A days with great fondness:)
Love to all- Juju
