There's a whole world out there. There's also a whole world undiscovered-- its in your head. Who knows what you can find!
You've just got to believe you can make art.
Take it easy on yourself. The creation of art is supposed to be joyful to the creator-- in this arena, forcing yourself, worrying about "losing your artistic talent", will only sap your willingness to create.
Hmm. "The more work you produce, the more creative you will become." I think thats true.
"Keep practicing. It’s the only way to get better. People always ask me HOW I did something. There’s no one method — it’s something you discover, as you work. How to see the world, and how to make that unique vision into your own painting. And don’t get discouraged by what others say. If you really love your art, and have found something you have a passion for drawing, then just do it." - Stephanie Law
I think thats true too.

Cool! You're into art too! I really like drawing and I just draw something that pops into my head.
If I have Artist's Block I'll get a chair. Go outside and watch, until I find out something to draw.
P.S. I might also drink something while I'm waiting outside
P.S.S. Do it outside at DAY not NIGHT!

i feel you on this one, i am having the same problem mainly because my mind is on other things like school and issues. Dont think too hard, whatever unusual things that pops out at you in a day might be a good way to start up your sketches.

Scribble, scrabble; draw random incoherant lines then take your pencil and blindly place it on a word in a dictionary or mag. Whatever word comes up ie, "suspense", think about it, close your eyes and doodle the first image that comes to mind. Kepp doing this till you have a mirage of unrelated words and images wihtin a 'frame'.
That is your painting and..... it will make you think. If it doesn't you might as well shoot yourself....:-)

What I do is I ask others to draw a random shape like a blob or something and I try to make something from it.
If that doesn't work looking at amazing pieces of art usually gets me hyped to draw.
This stuff is pretty mind-blowing:http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=83394
Hope you get un-blocked!

I understand it...I lost my ability to write a long time ago, but then I found painting. Perhaps your art is morphing into something different..maybe you need to sculpt, mixed media..something new.\
Actually, since I have been doing this y/a thing my ability is returning to write..I am regaining my confidence in words. You have to find your confidence, your muse, your voice.

dreams are a good inspiration
do you keep any type of journal
keep practicing your art, study the masters, pick a master that you have never studied before, try to duplicate his/her work, now make it your own
