First of all, there is no special federal or state regulatory board that controls the practice of this profession here in the UAE or Dubai.

The veracity and aunthenticity of one's experience or degrees rests on the employers hand and typically - it's a risk.

Clinical or HR Psychologist requires at least the BS Psycho degree from a reputed university but those having an MA in the same field is becoming a normal requierement even for a normal school or large company clinical resident Psychologist. And I can tell you - the salary is not that attractive.

However, if you are a Clinical Psychologist and is a trained professional who has a doctorate degree in clinical psychology, then you have a very good future in Dubai. Part of your qualification and training includes academic education in the areas of abnormal psychology, personality theories, psychological assessment, statistics, social psychology, study of various treatment approaches, and ethics.

If you are an entry Clinical Psychologist, you are required to have trainings. Clinical training with patients is obtained through supervised practicum assignment in various settings such as hospitals, community mental health centers, and psychiatric facilities. Doctorate level psychologists are also required to conduct on original scientific study in an area of psychology that has not been studied. At the end of academic and clinical training psychologists are required to spend one year of internship in an accredited facility under the supervision of a highly trained psychologist.

Tough but rewarding!
