x^4-13x^2+-36=0 hence ( x^2-9)(x^2-4)=0

(x-3)(x+3)(x+2)(x-2)=0 hence

x1=3 x2=-3 x3=-2 x4=2

Which question do you want answered anyway?
For the first one, you keep everything on one side of the equation until you have "completed the square", so you would have......
x^4 - 13x^2 + (6.5)^2 -( 42.25-36) = 0
then..... [ x^2 - 6.5 ]^2 = 6.25 and
[ x^2 - 6.5 ] = +/- 2.5 from which x= +/-2 or +/-3.
