Well over the last couple weeks the Twins have delivered some pretty bad news...first they lost Torri Hunter who was one of the best Feilders i've ever seen! Then i think on Monday the news said that the Twins were losing Santana too which flat out SUCKS!!!!

Ok so i have some questions.

1)Are you mad about this situation?

2)What did we get from Torri Hunter leaving the Twins?

3)What will we get if Santana goes to the Yankees or wherever?

1. Its just the economics of baseball bud. I have gone through losing a ton of players as a royals fan (beltran, damon, dye, etc.), so i know how you feel.
2. Since Torri Hunter was a Class A free agent (I believe) they will recieve at least one sandwich pick in next year's draft.
3. I have heard that the Twins want Wang and Cano in return, which would be a pretty good deal for Min

Think of the A's fans who've lost far more players then the Twins have. Giambi, Mulder, Hudson, Zito, and Tejada just to name a few. It's maddening that teams like the Yankees, Orioles, Red Sox, etc..........Have owners who don't really care about grooming talent, but signing it away from other teams.
The second point is Hunters getting on in years he's still a great center fielder would much rather have him, but the Twins still have a chance at getting Aaron Rowand who plays with an out right abandoned, and you traded for Delmon Young from he Tampa Rays, which is a great deal he's young and he's talented and should have been rookie of the year.
The last part of the question is Santana will be traded for Cano, Hughes, Chamberlain, and Kennedy. So 3 prospects and a proven player in Cano. In the end who knows how Hughes, Chamberlain, or Kennedy does in the major leagues they're on the cusp haven't really shown anything yet where as Santana has.

The Twins will not pay the salaries these guys will command. Take it up with ownership. He's got all the jack in the world. But he would rather pocket the revenue sharing cash...over 50M...than put the talent on the field. Torii Hunter left for that reason. They didnt even come close to a reasonable offer for him. Same with Santana. They know they cant sign him next season. They have to get something for him in a trade, or he will walk with no compensation to the Twins except a couple of draft picks.

Everyone says teams like the Yankees and Red Sox are ruining baseball. That's not true. It's teams that wont even spend the money they get for nothing on players who are ruining the game.

Hunter was a great defensive Centerfielder but he wasn't worth the money the Angels paid for him. Delmon Young is a great young player and has the potential to be much better offensively than Hunter ever was, but I don't understand giving up Garza to get him. The Twins will get alot of young talent for Santana and they might as well trade him if they won't be willing to pay him after next season. If the Yankees make a trade for Johan they have to be conisdered the favorites to win the AL East.

Very Depressed about it

We get nothing

We may get a minor leaguer

Overall it will hurt the twins in the longrun so much they'll be in last place in the AL Central, but theirs still hope you got Delmon Young from Tampa Bay in a Trade today, they actually haven't traded Santana though the red sox, mets, angels, dodgers as well as the yankess want him, yet we can still keep if they can't reach a deal before spring starts like a good 3 months from now.

Good Luck

1. I really don't care because I'm not a Twins or Angels fan. And I'll be glad if the Dodgers get him. (for the right price)

2. If the Twins offered him arbitration, you will get a compensation draft pick.

3. You will get a wealth of good young players, and possibly the vastly overrated Melky Cabrera.

Every team does that...even though it may be hard to see some players go you just have to focus on the players your team is picking up in the off season like Delmon Young...baseball is no longer designed for a player to stay on one team their entire career....there is no reason to be mad about the situation...as for Santana...you will most likely get some top prospects from whatever team trades for him.

Twins didn't get anything for Hunter, he was a free agent and they were not going to pay him (5 yrs and 90 mil is way to much for a defensive center fielder). And who knows what they will get for Santana, but you better believe it will have to be good for them to let him go.

Some owners are willing to spend money to field a winning team and some are not. It is a sad reality for Twins fans that their team falls into the later category.
