As a high school student who has many commitments and is in all honors /AP classes, my sleep cycle is pretty non-existent. I can never find a way to go to bed at the same time, because it depends how much homework I have and how many things (sports, extracurriculars, etc.) I have that day. My parents won't let me set more than one alarm, because it wakes them up. It's often really hard for me to get up, because I typically get between 3 and 5 hrs of sleep a night because I have so much to do. How can I make sure I always get up?

After your alarm goes off. Have a CD with your favorite music, the ones that make you dance, or music you work out to.

It works for me. You wake up in a good mood, dancing and ready for your big day.

Couldn't hurt to try, all lot of these others sound good too. Heck, try them all.

Use your cell phone alarm clock and a regular alarm clock. The cellphone you can set to vibrate and just have it in a pocket, so it will wake you up, and the second with an actual sound will be a reinforcer. I think there might also be wrist watches with alarm clocks that vibrate. (Kind of like James Bond's). If anything, try to sleep at the same time every night. If you have a lot of homework one night, just go to sleep at the same time, and set your alarm clock for earlier the next morning.

first set a bed time (you should sleep 8 hours plus a quarter of an hour for every year your under 18) you may be fryed from the day, so if your sixteen (like me) go to bed at 9 and wake up and 5 or 6 or depending on your scheldude, to do the rest of your homework. Second: finding a fixed bed time is helpful, your body will fall into it and you'll feel better have more energy!!! it will be eaiser to get up and easier to fall asleep. You'll have trouble your first week falling asleep, so drink a glass or two 1/2 hour before you want to sleep.

Hate to break it to you hun, but it only gets worse from here on out. What I do to help myself (I'm in graduate school), is I set my regular alarm for about 10/15 minutes before I actually should set my alarm so that my body wakes up from the deep sleep, and subconsciously I roll over and just relax and semi-go back to sleep. Then I set an alarm on my cell phone (for the real time I need to wake up) that isn't incredibly loud, but it's loud enough that I'll definately hear it, and it will wake me up w/o being annoying...and I'll make sure that it's all the way across the room. That way I'm not as tired the 2nd time I wake up, and I jump in the shower after I'm forced to get up out of bed for the 2nd alarm. I hope this may help you! Good luck! I'm sure you'll find out what works best for you!

Use your cell phone's alarm clock and your alarm clock. Set them at different times, with maybe 15min appart. This way if you fall back asleep with one, then 15 mins later the other one will ring, and then you will wake up. OR if no cell phone make sure you put your alarm clock on a place that will make you stand up and put some effort into turning it off, that way by the time you turn it off you're already up since you had to get out off bed to turn the thing off as opposed to just stretching your arm and snoozing the thing 500 times.

Honestly- You need to go to bed earlier. Re arrange your schedule, "wake UP" an hour earlier to " wake- up and warm up your mind".... I did my easy homework in the morning before school.

Being sleep deprived IS the problem. Really.
So if you can average 7-8, that would change your whole processing system of your body.

These days, with my "sleep" is a serious concern, because the is when your body "heals" its immune system. I have a sleep schedule. I "make up my sleep" on Saturdays. I go out with friends on Friday night and make NO social plans for Saturday at all. [let my body wake up when it wants too.]

My day sttarts at 6 am (6 days a week) So Satruday sometimes its 9 am and the last two weeks it has been 1pm and last week it was 4pm ( woke up starving- I ate and literally went back to bed, woke again at 11pm did some business, ate a Ham San and went back to bed, and woke on time at 6am on Sunday.) I felt literally "Hung over" from exhaustion. I gotta tell ya, on Monday, life was so much better.

I watched the " recorded" version of my favorite show that I missed the night before. [ sleeping] The recorded version is much shorter and you waste less time.

I organized my life so my health is first.

what i did was have the alarm clock set all the way across the room and loud enough itd wake me so id have to get up and go shut it off. cause if its too close most of the time otherwise i usually hit the snooze. that helped me but may not work for u. also set it next to something that u do in morning like near dresser or something that u go to in morning anyways so that way ur at alarm u can do the other thing tends to wake u up doing stuff right off

You can't go to bed at a regular time?
One alarm clock isn't sufficient?
You can't use more than one alarm clock?

Put the alarm clock out of reach?
Cut back on some activities ?
Take naps for 20 minutes during the day?
Have a friend or family member wake you up (pay them)?

Get up immediately-no snoozing?
Reward yourself if you get up on time for a week?

Try a really loud annoying alarm. Like one of those old fashioned ones that has a hand that bangs on a metal bell.
And, try not to do too many extracurriculars. The human body can only sustain too much. It sounds like you may be soon to "pop" from the stress and lack of sleep.

Go to bed early and set an alarm. I use the alarm on my cell phone because I always have it close by. Even if you travel you will more than likely have your cell phone if you don't have an alarm clock!
