While I was a scout we were in 3 Finals
We lost to Montreal in 1971
We lost to Montreal in 1973
We lost to Pittsburgh in 1992
My first training camp was the September after the 1961 cup, so I missed all the excitement, and they also played in one final while I was a minor leaguer .
Also, I was signed in 1959 and retired in 1997, the team missed the playoffs ONCE in that span. No other original 6 team can make that claim.
Not in victory, I had a chance to pick it up in 1991 at Mario Lemieux's place.............you know.............just to see how heavy it was.

LITY: WOW! You actually got to pick up the Stanley Cup? At Mario Lemieux's house?!?!?!? Does Lemieux really know you that well?!? That is so AWESOME! Wow, you're like that guy that nobody really notices or talks about, but you've been everywhere cool and seen all the cool things! Damn, I want to be a scout so much.

1) Maria Sharapova grunts after hitting a shot.
2) I happen by a truck dealership.
3) Domino's shows up with 4 orders of wings.
4) Sade sings.
5) My ladyfriend makes certain gestures. Meow.
JENNI - I just watched "Pan's Labyrinth" over the weekend and thought that was really sad.

You must not be very superstitious, LITY.
I had a chance to handle the cup in 2000 and 2002, but decided against it. Why? The off chance that I would take a league job and the miniscule chance that team might win the trophy some day. LOL
Stupid, maybe, but I'm pretty whacky with my superstitions.
By the way, were you the one who tossed the Cup in Mario's pool? LOL
EDIT: Jenni, is it true that the abs in 300 have to be seen in HD to really be appreciated?

During the telecast, the were panning up to the rafters (and all the banners the 'Hawks have up there) and it got me thinking.
How many, if it all, Stanley Cups did you win while working as a scout.

I think we have a visible enough sign for that, (especially in boxers)...
I just once would LOVE to see a gal get a clearly visible sign of "excitement"...
I'm thinking like low beams; then to high beams; followed by the finale of total solar flare...

When he jumps up and down when his team scores. Also if a girl shows him the goods a guy would get excited by drooling.
