Giraffes belong to the family of GIRAFFIDAE which include the OKAPIS - an animal found in Ituri Rainforest in central Africa considered as close relative of giraffes.Giraffids share a common ancestor with DEER and BOVIDS. SIVATHERIUM and CLIMACOCERAS are their extinct relatives.

The little knobs on their heads are horns covered in skin called "ossicones" derived from ossified cartilage. Other animals do not have them as they have the HORNS instead.

Giraffes have spotted pattern over their bodies to provide a certain degree of camouflage.

This question is hillarious. I actually don't know which animals the giraffes are related to. However, I read this article about how giraffes were viewed in Renaissance Italy. When the Europeans first explored Africa, they encountered giraffes, but they didn't know what animals they were related to. They thought that giraffes might be a cross between a big cat (because giraffes are so quick and graceful) and a camel (because giraffes have high stamina). So in Italy the camel came to viewed as a regal animal.
