The clumps are the lining of your uterus breaking away. A 3" long clump does sound a little large, it may be nothing but there is a condition called endometriosis where the lining of the uterus overgrows. This can cause heavy painful periods and may lead to fertility problems so it would be worth discussing it with your doctor just to be on the safe side. Any change in your body's normal functions is worth checking with your doctor and only you know what is normal for you.

Yes, it is normal. I've heard them called clots, rather than clumps, and the big ones do look wierd, but it's ok. It's all from the lining being sloughed off inside so it's not coming from an open vein or anything--it's just coming out slightly different. Almost jelly like. I usually got extra cramping when that happened, but it isn't anything to worry about.

If you feel tired, make sure you eat red meat (beef) a little more frequently to help your body replace the iron needed.

Is it possible you miscarried? I would see a Dr - or at least talk to a nurse over the phone - that sounds quite large to be normal.. I suppose it could happen though...

Even though it sounds crazy, that can be normal for some women. Just make sure your pap is up to date and if you have any unusual pain or HEAVY bleeding, contact your doctor.....
