Terrible Ted is the Man.
The guy is a phenomenal guitarist, and a great songwriter.
So what are You favorite Nuge songs?
I love just about everthing off His first three albums myself.

I agree with everyone, Ted is a favorite of mine too both in music and the outdoor world. he isn't afraid to speak his mind on any subject and has the knowledge and facts to back up his opinions. As for songs, my favorite is and always will be "Great White Buffalo". Smiley is 100% correct about the "Tooth Fang and Claw" album it is one of the best. He does a song on one of his newer albums that has that same name. It is a rocker. The 80's stuff wasn't as good but some of his stuff lately holds up well. He did a song a few years back called "Kiss My ***" that was rather political (Imagine that) it is a hilarious song and rocks at the same time. I didn't know about the "Full Bluntal Nugity" DVD but I will look for it. I have the CD and it flat out blows the balls off of most live albums. I've seen him six times solo and once with the Damn Yankees and he has never put on a bad show. Hey, did I mention that one of those shows was a free one. Tix for canned goods at Christmas. He is very charitable and donates fresh game meat and his time to homeless shelters on a regular basis.

Yeah he's great isn't he? He never seems to get old, and he's turning 60 in a couple weeks!

I've seen Ted in concert several times over the years;
First in 1968, and again in 1970 in Windsor Ontario Canada, while he was with 'The Amboy Dukes'. They were a fantastic band, and even better live. Listen to 1970's 'Survival of the Fittest', and you'll see what I mean!
One of my favorite albums would be 1974's 'Tooth Fang and Claw', which was his final album with 'The Amboy Dukes'. This album featured the original version of 'The Great White Buffalo'. If you've never heard 'Tooth Fang and Claw', you need to check it out...it's got some serious guitar moments on songs like 'Living in the Woods', 'Free Flight', and 'Hibernation'. It's still one of my favorite early 70's hard rock albums.

Ted's solo career was also amazing! His 1st three studio albums really rock, with classics like Stranglehold, Motor City Madhouse, Stormtroopin', Dog Eat Dog, Free-for-All, Hammerdown, Death by Misadventure, Live It Up, Out of Control...Oh boy, I'm gonna take a break and go throw throw the 'Cat Scratch Fever' album on right now!
There, it's on random play mode and the first song is 'Live it Up'!
Also, 'Double Live Gonzo' is one of my favorite live albums, right up there with Humble Pie 'Rockin the Fillmore' and Deep Purple 'Made in Japan'.

I had a difficult time getting into his later 70's - 80's studio albums like 'Weekend Warriors', and 'Penetrator'. And the only good songs (in my opinion) to come off the 'Scream Dream' album were 'Wango Tango', and 'Terminus El Dorado'. I think the 'Nuge' hit a bit of a slump there for a few years. Though I did see him with Judas Priest sometime during the late 70's, and he was still great live. His studio material really seemed to suffer at that time. I remember buying 1982's 'Nugent' album because of the return of Derek St. Holmes...I had high hopes, but in the end I recall being somewhat disappointed.

I saw him two summers ago at a bar/club type venue that held around 300 people. He put on an incredible performance. Our table was right up front, and Ted even came over and talked to us for a couple minutes!

That week I went out and bought Ted's double DVD concert set called 'Full Bluntal Nugity'. It's great, and worth seeking out if you don't own it already. He was still sporting his old Gibson Birdland guitar, and wow can he play that thing!
At the beginning of the concert Ted makes one of the best entrances ever, riding on the back of a buffalo!

Here's some trivia for ya! Besides Derek St. Holmes contributing to many of the lead vocals on Ted's 1st four albums, did you know that Meatloaf also sang lead on a few tracks on the 'Free For All' album?

Hey Darth...Ted is a favorite. Hey Baby comes to mind, along with Wango Tango. But Double Live Gonzo has alot of meaning for me, plus I like the part about blowin the balls off a charging rhino at 50 paces is classic Ted. His rendition of Baby Please Don't Go freakin rocked. I also loved the Free For All LP. Dog Eat Dog got played alot.
Edit: Atomic, great call..I did forget about Terminus.

Aside from my early personal experiences with the man, I have always appreciated his abilities with six strings. Have seen him many times and have even been on the same bill with his band; he is simply at his best onstage. My personal favorite from him is from when he was still with the Amboy Dukes, although the album was "Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes." The song? Papa's Will. You just ain't gonna find a better slice of American rock (and one of the better rock screams) than that offering.

I really like the song "Strangehold". Get's me wild! I feel fierce and wild... AHHHH!

And then, "Cat Scratch Fever", I love that guitar on it. Kicks butt.. Peace.
