Which model of the Playwright/Director relationship do you prefer: Modern or Postmodern? Why?

I don't know the models that go with the lables you have given but as a playwright I know that there are several models that are used. Since I am trained and experienced in every theatrical art, I prefer to direct my own plays as it is very difficult to find a director who is competent. Most of the time, amateur directors have made embarassing messes of my scripts. But I have had some success in just turning my play over to a director and they have done a decent job with it.
