I (wife) have been cooking and loving it for about 60 yrs, hubby when he retired wanted to learn to cook, and he stinks at it. He does not know how to substitute,or tweek a recipe if you don't like something in it, I guess I can look at a recipe and think,I'll leave that out and put in this, or add extra of that and less of this, but bless him,he must follow the recipe to the letter, and if the time says 35 minutes,he would never take it out sooner, or later, where I would be able to tell if it was done ib 29 or 30 mins. But at least he tries.

I'm the better cook . My father-in-law was a chef in the Canadian Airforce before they were amalgamated into the Armed Forces. My husband told me about all the fancy meals his dad could make at the base but my husband never learned to cook that well. Mind you, if I'm sick which is very seldom he will come up with something for me that tastes great. He's better at eating than cooking.

My husband has 2 dishes he cooks. He does not even like to grill. That is fine y me. But my ex was better at many things in the kitchen. It doesn't matter to me some people have a passion for cooking. I cook southern style and my husband isn't crazy about it.

Well, I've been single a long time - since 1981...and, I am a fabulous cook. Furthermore I LOVE to cook and bake......
However, my second (and last) husband was a great cook. He was born into a family of Italian immigrants whose holy grail was food. He learned to cook from the time he could say the word. He could throw together anything from spaghetti and gravy to veal picata to chicken cacciatore to crabs and pasta... He even baked Italian bread for the holidays.
The man was a dream!!!! He had just one "itty bitty" fault that eventually led to divorce... He had a serious "zipper" problem, if you get my drift.
His father used to cook the Sunday evening meal at their home and all the kids were expected to pitch in.

I'm the better cook indoors,my husband is better on the grill. I think it's a guy thing. But even tho I am the better cook, he does most of the cooking, because, well, because, I'm lazy. And he likes to eat.

It's not a gender thing. It's an experience and enjoyment thing. Everyone is different. I have friends where he does the cooking and she does the car maintenance. I have always done the cooking [except for the rare treat to give me a break] in my home. I am thinking my youngest son will be the cook in his home. He loves it!

All around, my husband is by far a better cook than I am. I do have a few special dishes that I can cook, but not many.

Depends on the wife and husband and the consumer's taste.
I think generally Men are more creative since they are usually not relegated to daily cooking and it doesn't become an obligation they get tired of...That is, of course, assuming they CAN cook.

My husband has a knack for cooking and creating different meals. Helps to overcome the boredom of the ole' meat and potato thig-a-ma-jig. He's a pro at grilling also.
I Love making soups, salads, casserole dishes and love to bake and create different kinds of desserts. Guess we compliment each other in our own right.
