I accidentally broke the little disk thing that you put your cds in to burn them the whole tray came out, does anyone know how to get it put back in! i hope theres a way to salvage it!!!!

Keep in mind that theres nothing broke off on it, it looks like it will just go back in but i cant get it in! its fine, and worked fine up until now.......it just looked like someone pulled it completely out!

i tried pushing it back in and theres something in the back that keeps it from going back in! what do i do??!?!

You mean you pulled out the entire tray?

Look on the underside of the tray. You should see a toothed edge on each side. Check to see if any of the teeth are broken. If not, good. If they are, then you will probably need to buy a new drive. Now look inside the drive, where you yanked the tray out. You should be able to see little gears on each side. Carefully line up the teeth on the underside of the tray with the gears and GENTLY start pushing it in. If it gets stuck, pull it out and start again. After the tray is pushed in a certain distance, it should pull itself in automatically. Test the drive a couple of times to make sure it works.

Sorry, I'm afraid you are out of luck. The good thing is that a new drive only costs $20 - $30 . See newegg.com

Hi. They are so inexpensive today I would just replace the drive.
