Even though, you have some experience with riding dirt bikes, street is somewhat different. Be careful and watch the vehicles around you to prevent a collision. Try not to go over 650cc for your first sport bike. Wear your gear when you want to ride. The driver of the motorvehical causes most motorcycle collisions with death to the motorcycle rider as the consequence. Be safe!

Sounds like you have enough experience to ride a streetbike, but be smart, and get a beater. Chances are you'll drop it even if it's just putting it on the kickstand. Even after that, don't feel compelled to get a sportbike and go riding around like an asshat. If you really like motorcycles, and want to live long to enjoy them, ride within the speed limits, and save the racing for the track- you've already shown you have a decent head on your shoulders by taking the MSF first. Good luck.

You appear to have enough experience for one. Next question is can you legally have your license for it on the street. In Florida, you must be 18 for your motorcycle endorsement on your license.
Remember, the first time you think you're "really good" is when your bike kills you. Never get to over-confident

guardrailjim is right.
You have enough experience to handle a street bike.
However, 6 months is only a start when it comes to road experience. You haven't had a chance to see any of the weird things other drivers do. Until you get some experience dealing with traffic, you might be better off with the protection of a cage.

insurance is what's going to hurt the most. try to start out
on a cruiser or 250 or 500cc. just get some riding time
on the streets for like 2yrs without getting any tickets.
you get 1 speeding ticket you might just as well sell
your bike. experience is what counts. be smart and
ride safe.

You have plenty of experience to ride a street bike.
But you don't have enough "street" experience.
It's best to get driving experience with a car, so you'll get comfortable riding with other vehicles.
It will be safer to learn while driving a car.
Lots of stuff can happen in a split second.
If you're not aware of the possibilities, you can easily get hurt on a bike.

Over confidence will kill you on the street, be humble, be defensive.
The guy who turns his Cadillac left in front of you cares little about how cocky you are,
Experience is good , but the street is a different world than the trails ,track or fields.

We all hit the streets with zero experience. I'd say you are better prepared than most to get on the road, though.
Go for it.
Ride like you're invisible.
