I am a Sophmore in 3.94 GPA on a 4 scale and have taken all honors classes except biology. I am a year ahead of the norm. in Math and Spanish and plan on taking Spanish 5 and AP Calculus I plan on taking other AP classes and I am in Drama Club, Key Club, DECA club, Pro Start Competition and community service projects also. Do I have a chance? I know that Cornell has a 20% acceptance rate. I am also a white female. Is there anything else i need to do to try to get in???

Way to go on grades! The one thing I suggest is dropping some of the clubs, see what you love and do it for yourself, or theyll see right through you and realize that youre only doing these for college apps. Alot will also depend on your SAT/ACT scores, remember while in highschool not to just memorize for a test, but also to LEARN WHY. I was like you once and I found that it was physically impossible to be an active member in soo many clubs. It will be more impressive if you see what you love and stick with them all four years, maybe to lead one or two. Also, try a sport! it wont kill you and it shows well-roundedness and an open mind. Take my advice and Cornell will be a saftey school.

You are right that Ivy League schools have low acceptance rates. They reject more qualified students than they accept.

But you are on the right ttrack. If you keep up these grades, have a high SAT score and write a good admissions essay, you will get into a great college.

It really just depends on the quality of the students for the year that you apply. Keep up the good work though. Start requesting informations from their sites. Keep in mind though that Ivy League Schools are NOT your only options. State Universities are just as good (and cheaper).
