First, get in touch with your lawyer and let them act as your representation in court. If you do not have a lawyer, contact the office of whoever sent the summons. Explain you are out of the country and can not appear as desired.

If you are being asked to give evidence, make a deposition at the nearest attorney's office to you. That should do.

If you are facing criminal charges, or are being sued, you are best off returning home to face the accusations head on.
