Why haven't we heard anything about Dick Cheney running for president? Is it because he just doesn't want it or because they know there's no way he could win with the record he and Bush have left?

Your right most Vice Presidents in recent memory have run. However, Cheney said long ago that he had no interest and would not run for President. Also, his health issues certainly are a big factor and like Hillary he carrys with him a lot of negatives which republicans would shy away from.

i did not see everywhere which used the term "vp" It purely states "President" yet you will then enhance the pink flag of conflict of pastime. If Hillary Clinton won the 2014 Presidency and wanted her Husband to be vp i don't see why he cant carry that workplace yet there will be a extensive cloud of a conflict because of the fact he has already served 2 words. I even have nor has all of us each and every seen a 2 term President functionality vice yet howdy that's the U.S. something can ensue..i assume

Cheney took the roll to be Bush's confidant and adviser and said all along that he would not run for President when the Bush administration left town. He has a bad heart, and doesn't want to put America in a position of replacing him when he dies.

There are a couple reasons:

He wouldn't have a chance because Bush is so unpopular, and Cheney is one the the people that makes Bush so unpopular. His negative ratings are higher than Bush's negatives.

He is not in good health at all. I'm not sure he'd survive a presidency, and anyway, his health would be a reason people wouldn't vote for him, even if they DIDN'T object to him on principle.

I say, thank goodness! I've certainly had enough of Dick Cheney, and will be happy when he's not in D.C. anymore!

Cheney said when he ran for vice president that he would never seek the presidency.

And this is the first time since 1952 that neither a sitting president nor vice president is running for president.

1956 Pres. Eisenhower
1960 V.P. Nixon
1964 Pres. Johnson
1968 V.P. Humphrey
1972 Pres. Nixon
1976 Pres. Ford
1980 Pres. Carter
1984 Pres. Reagan
1988 V.P. Bush
1992 Pres. Bush
1996 Pres. Clinton
2000 V.P. Gore
2004 Pres. Bush
2008 It's wide open!

Actually few vice presidents have run for president and most who have done it have done it recently. 14 VPs have become president, 8 because of the death of their predecessor.

Dick Cheney won't run or be elected because of his numerous heart problems and his age (66).

He probably knows there is no way he'd win. He probably wouldn't live out a presidency anyway. And it's possible that he just doesn't want to.

I think his health has a lot to do with it and I also believe that his record with Bush has killed any chance he may have had.

He knows he has no chance - (plus he'll be busy defending himself at the war crimes tribunal for the next 10 years).
