I'm planning on buying a pair of these b/c my 5-week daughter seems to be having comfort issues in her snugride. I don't think they come with most car seats and wondering for those who use them: has your infant experienced more discomfort from them, from rubbing against their face/neck, or problems tightening the straps when you buckle them in?

Also, do these covers pose a safety risk (hence why they don't come with the car seats), albeit Graco does sell a head support that come with these too? Thanks.

I have noticed that when they are small, the part that is supposed to buckle across the chest ends up getting pushed down to their tummy. This could pose a safety risk if you were in an accident because your baby would not be properly restrained. I don't know for sure because I don't personally use them. I think that I hve seen some shorter ones that might work.

You should never add anything to a carseat that doesn't come in the box or directly from the manufacturer for your particular carseat. It could void your warranty and put your child at risk.

You could try calling Graco and see if they have some you could buy or see if they have a suggestion.

The previous poster about the chest clip was correct. Some of the strap covers that are on the market push the chest clip down. Chest clips need to be at armpit height to keep the harness in the correct postion.

I had my son in a headrest but he got too big for it , so i put the straps on, but i couldn't seem to get it to fit right it was too loose. So i just lay them beside his face because then i can tighten the straps and he's too young to pull them away. It works really good that way :)

I found some great 100% lambswool seat strap covers when my daughter was a baby - she loved them.

Mine were great - just keep the velcro pointed away from their neck so it doesn't scratch them - ouch!

They aren't dangerous and the padding will likely provide some comfort.
