the shop that fixed suv 1st time left clamp on transmission line.Burnt up original tran plus re built one before clamp was found.does this hurt or help value of suv. kelley blue book was no help

Accident damage does factor in when figuring the value of a vehicle. If the damage was minor and all has been properly repaired the effect should be minimal. It's too bad you couldn't go after the shop that hosed up the trans.

A properly repaired problem does nothing in relation to the value of the SUV involved. The only things which will affect value are body damage not properly repaired, such that it is visible or causes improper operation of the vehicle, OR if the vehicle was damaged seriously enough to warrant it getting a 'marked title', indicating that it was seriously damaged.

Yes this does decrease the value of the vehicle but only if theses incidents are disclosed to a potential buyer. If he doesn't ask, don't tell!
