My taste in names is not "Unusual" in my opinion, but my husband says that my choices are too wierd.

My choices: girl: Chloe Marie
Molly Jane
Cadence Elaine

boy: Elijah Darren
Dean Owen
Caleb Jordan

My husband will not even consider that we could be having a girl. For a boy he likes
James Morrison ______

I think this is sick! I don't want to name my child after an alcoholic, druggie who overdosed in a bathroom in Paris.

What do you guys think?

I am completely on your side. Thats a horrible namesake for a baby. Your names are not weird by any means, they are very nice and slightly uncommon. My favorite is Chloe Marie, but I think Chloe Jane would be beautiful. As far as boys I like Elijah Darren. I think Elijah Dean would be nice too.

Technically...although I wouldn't want to have to live with the fighting afterwards for years...I would keep in mind that YOU are the one that fills out the birth certificate not him. You can put whatever you want on it.

I don't think any child should be named after any kind of celebrity. James isn't a bad name, though. I don't think your taste in names is unusual at all! Chloe Marie is cute, Molly Jane sounds a little older but is still pretty cute. Cadence Elaine is nice, I've never heard the name Cadence before but it has a nice ring to it. I <3 Elijah Darren, the name Elijah, Eli for short, is just darling! I really don't like the name Dean or Owen, so not wild about that one. However, Caleb Jordan is fantastic! =) Hope you work something out, and good luck! ♥

First of all, tell your husband to get off his high horse. Whatever the baby will be, boy or NOT, it is his child. So stop being so arrogant and obnoxious about it! And your choices are not wierd.
I like Chloe Marie the best for a girl and Caleb Jordan the best for a boy.
Elijah and Cadence are still nice. But Im not too fond of Dean or Molly.
James Morrison is not bad either. Although, I like Jameson better...with James as its nickname. Maybe switch it around a bit to Jameson Morris.

I don't understand the interest in the name Cadence for a girl. I've seen that before, and I will give my opinion, again. It has a meaning, which is "beat". Beat Elaine. Chloe Marie is the best of those choices.

Caleb sounds like a 19th Century lumberjack. All I can think of when I hear "Darren" is the husband on Bewitched.

James Morrison is actually a classy sounding name, separate from the person. Could you two compromise on something like Elijah James, or Jordan Morrison?

I think the bigger problem for you right now is that you husband won't even consider you may be having a girl! : )

I think it's ridiculous that your husband won't even consider the fact that you may have a girl.
How old is he?
Secondly, Your body is the one housing the child. Your body is the one going through all the changes (Physically & emotionally) and you will be the only person who can actually push her out into the world.
My thoughts are, You have the final say over what her name ends up being.
Having said that..I really LOVE Molly Jane. It's pretty and girlie with an old fashioned classiness that won't fade.
From your boys list i like Owen and Darren.
I agree with you, naming him James Morrison may sound "awesome" to your husband, but honestly I think it's kinda hokey.

I LOVE Chloe Marie.. I think Chloe Jane would be awesome too.....Cadence is a little too overused anymore and Molly reminds me of an old cat I had, but it is cute...

I like Elijah and Caleb.. How about Elijah Dean and Caleb Owen....

I am not fond of his name choice either.. Give him a baby name book and make him sit down and make a list. :) He will have to compromise sometime

Well I am with you on the James Morrison, but would he settle for James Morris & leave the "son" off the middle name? Do you even like the name James or Jim?

I like the name Molly...very much, but not with Jane. I love the names Jordan & Owen! How about Owen Jordan?
Or Molly Lynne?

Chloe Marie - normal, not weird
Molly Jane - normal, not weird
Cadence Elaine - more unusual

(Boys names are normal sounding to me)
Elijah Darren
Dean Owen
Caleb Jordan

I like James also, but I wouldn't use Morrison either

I think you made me laugh out loud. I like Chloe Marie and Molly Jane. Two of my son's names are Caleb and Owen and so I like those choices too. My third son's name is Declan which is the real name of Elvis Costello, my husband's favorite artist. Was Jim Morrison his real name? I do like James a lot though. If your husband refuses to consider girl names, then the way I look at it is that you get to choose, no? Congrats and good luck!

Chloe Marie is sweet for a girl. I can so understand your feelings about Jim Morrison as a name for a boy but Jim Morrison's Middle name was Douglas would your husband settle for Douglas as a middle or first name?
