To use a biblical phrase "shake the dust from your shoes" and don't look back. Racism is hatred of an especially poisonous sort.
If you are concerned about the Christian view remember: "The Light shall have no fellowship with the Dark." And racists are some of the "darkest' people around.

What's your friendship based on? If it's something that comes out in racist activities you don't agree with like participating in group activities, either avoid those activities or let them you know you don't agree. Good friends should be able to agree on disagreeing and still be friends.
If your friendship is based in a mutual interest and activity not normally group or race oriented, cringe and bear it. Why throw away a good friend for something that doesn't usually get thrown in your face?
Friendship is harder than love. Friendship is earned, not biological or emotional. It is longer standing and can be worth far more than love, because it's two way and both people have to work on it. The very best marriages are based first and last on a great friendship, not simply love as most people think of it.
Don't sweat the small stuff it that's all it is.

It's good that you separated yourself from them. Otherwise people would get the wrong idea about you as well. If you still hang out with them you can just tell them not to make racist comments around you, it makes you uncomfortable because you don't think the way they do. It's sad that we are almost in 2008...in America no less, "The Land of Opportunities", and a majority of the people are still racist. If you ask me, if anyone should be racist, it should be the Native Americans. They should be looking at us with disgust because WE are in THEIR land.

It all depends, where you live and where are you from, Every one needs to belong to some time of group, where do you see yourself. I am Hispanic and were are hard on our own people as a group, so if you feel bad because your christian then you have other issues, Being racist has a lot to do with what group you relate too, As a solider I have other issues not liking our current enemy. Does that make me a racist because they want to kill me? we all belong to some type of groups. If you don't feel good about what your friends are saying then don't hang around them. If you agree but don't have the balls to agree then you have other problems again. remember Jesus was a Jew. Good luck!

Let them know you don't share their racist point of view. If they are truly your friends they should respect your non-racist views. From a Christian point-of-view, be kind to all even if you disagree with their lifestyle. Pray for them to open up their eyes and lose their racist ways. It does everyone harm to be racist in such a multi-cultural country. They must have learned those views from family, friends or a bad experience.

Friends usually share each other's values and ideas. It would be very difficult for a non-racist to be friends with racist people, because you differ so fundamentally about the dignity of the individual and what it means to be human.
I'm not saying that you necessarilty have moral or intellectual superiority over your friends (you probably do, because racism is born in fear and ignorance). I'm just wondering why you're friends in the first place with persons whose values are repugnant to you.

Don't have friends that are racists! It's that simple. Or just be their friend and make them forget about being racist, and distract them with other things, like talk about other things. PS: DON'T DO RACISM IT'S MEAN AND VERY BAD. Or you can talk to them and say racism is bad, and that everybodys a normal person no matter what skin color, it doesn't count on your skin color it counts on whats in the inside.... tell them that if you want.... Or use the other choices.
Hope that helped.

We are all racists in one form or another. We may not say much or say anything at all. But thinking racism is just as unchrisitian as saying it out loud.
We may not like what we hear think or say and that goes without saying.
However there's not alot one can do about your friends, you can deny there friendship, and find others.
Its what and who you are that matters, We are all entitled to our feelings be it good or bad.
Remain the person you are and ignore there childish behaviour.

If you want to stay friends with them you can. just stay strong and don't get influenced by not hanging out with them as much. And if they say something racist, tell them you don't like it, or if they make racist remarks/jokes, tell them you don't like to hear that and don't put up with it. If they still do it around you then yeah, that means they don't respect you and it's time to find a new group of friends from there.

You don't have to feel badly that some of your friends are not as clear in thought as you about racism. People who pretend are worse than those who express their thoughts, don't you think? Just remember that if you truly have an open mind and thoughts then all else is nothing less than another bothersome thing you have to remind people that you don't subscribe to: treating people you respect, disrespectfully.
