I am looking for something for my dishwasher and I also need something for my high efficiency top load wash machine. Any other natural ideas would be great too. Thanks

For the dishwasher, Trader Joe's brand of dishwasher powder is the best. I'm not entirely sure of the name...

For the laundry, try Seventh Generation liquid detergent. I haven't tried it personally but I've heard good things about it.

If you want to make it yourself:

For dishwasher--- mix equal parts of baking soda and Borax. And then put Vinegar where the jet dry would normally go.

For the laundry-- hydrogen peroxide works great. For whites, use bleach. And for a fabric softener, use baking soda.

My wife uses vinegar to cleanse the dishwasher about once a month. Try lemon juice as a natural rust and limescale remover on sinks and faucets. There are many others but I am out of breath.

the only natural cleaning products are water and wind, sand,
the old timers used lye soap. there is a natural soap called soap root, only grows in the south,
use a liquid, it will break down better than a powder,

Look for enzyme cleaners. Shaklee has them for both.
Ecoquest sells a laundrypure system for the washing machine that requires absolutely no soap. check them out.
