I am really looking forward to this movie and I dont care for Will Smith. Is this a remake of Omega Man? Charleston Heston at his over acting best!

if they made another To Kill a Mockingbird would it be a remake of the first movie or based on the book?
I tend to think its called a remake. I didnt think 30 days was anything like it. Hope the legend one is better.

I read on IMDB that I am Legend is closer to the novel rather than a remake of the Omega Man. It's hard to believe Will Smith can outdo Heston
