By whom? There was a lot of rhetoric and crap talking about Vietnam, but everyone understands that innocent persons are killed in every war, including the one we are in now.

If someone is still bringing up this old news, just ignore them and walk away, same as you would when confronted by any other crazy person on the street.

People that who have told you this are IGNORANT!!! !

I have friends that were in elite forces that are now alcoholics for doing the work of dishonest Democrats and Republicans on most wars especially from 1900 to today.

Unfortunately enough military personnel in Vietnam did horrible things and since you are a veteran from there they insult you.

I strongly believe that you are NOT a baby killer and only you know if you did. I would NEVER call you a baby killer since I do not know what you did there and therefore I have no reason to follow what those ignorant people have told you.

The US Army screwed the life of the late Staff Sergeant Stuart Albert Gerlisky from retirement due to the fact that a former recruiting office on the Southwest corner of Hubbard St and Glenoaks Blvd leaked and he hurt his back so severe that he could not perform his duties, thus he was about 6 months shy of retirement. He died in July 2000 because of brain cancer from Agent Orange from his tour in Vietnam around 1968 or 1969.

and
Specialist Four Max Rafael Waller.

Stuart and Waller had one thing in common, Battle Force. Gerlisky was there in 1983 and Waller was there in 1984.
Read about Waller and Battle Force which was reflagged in August 2005 to 1-32 Cav

The Viet Nam war was a sad period in our history. The American people were torn between what they felt was a war for profit & a political war. Basically a no win war for America. Our military was caught in the middle of this conflict of ideas. Sadly, a military person is taught first to FIGHT & KILL. Second he is taught to obey orders & to carry out those orders to the best of their ability. Third, he is taught to WIN. The desire to stay alive is strong in everybody, especially those that are in a deadly situation every day of their lives. At the time, our people didn't understand what our military were facing in Nam. First, the same people that were your friend during the day was your enemy at night. As a matter of fact, we didn't know who in the hell was our enemy. Second, we fought with one arm tied behind us, much as the troops in Iraq are doing now. To stay alive, we did what we had to do. If that meant killing every person in a village, so be it. We never knew who had a grenade or expolsive of some kind strapped to their body. My man, hold your head high, you we a soldier in the service of the United States & you did what a good soldier is supposed to do, obey orders & most of all, TO STAY ALIVE. Feel no shame & ignore the narrow minded people that have no idea what the military men experienced in Nam while the rest of America was enjoying their life in comfort & safety. God Bless you!!

Because, the communist Jackass party members (democrats) whom call you baby killer, are to busy warping their minds thinking how better to promote "Planned Murderhood", excuse me,
"Planned Parenthood" (what's there to plan for ?)
to understand that a nation in which the most harmless and innocent of all, are those whom have no "rights"(even to live) at all, is a nation with an internal self destructive mechanism.
If you can be so completely void of a conscience, so as to be able to kill your own unborn as a nation, then you also will be capable of many other horrendeous and unscrupulous things the kind which destroy a nation from within !!!

You fought for our Country and did what you felt you had to do, I'm sure you didn't go around killing little kids or babies, but it was a very unpopular war which you were not allowed to fight as a "war". You could just do certain things and could go to a certain point on the map, but no further. You stopped at North Korea-----------look what happened . Thank you for your effort. and Jane Fonda be damned.

U r a victim of Jane Fonda syndrome.

Don't worry, John kerry is calling our current troops baby killers like he did against you guys. Sen Turbin Durbin is even comparing our troops to nazi's. See nothing has changed.

You can thank John F. Kerry for that nickname, it comes from his book, "The New Soldier", and his "Winter Soldier Investigation."

edit
Some Kerry supporter doesn't like the truth.

I don't think anyone today would say that. (at least I hope so)

People in the 60's were overdosed on drugs and rhetoric.

(We aren't completely off the sauce today, but at least we aren't disparaging our soldiers as much as we did back then)

PS: I'm a liberal democrat and I thank you for your service.

because some ppl don't agree with the war, Or they don't understand why it was fought. they are entitled to their pinions, just like the rest of us. most have heard stories that involve the military killing families, women, children. unfortunately, that is One of the rights that you fought for us to have, and most of us appreciate that. it is in my opinion that if you were not there....you cannot judge. i think that men and women like you fighting for the right of ppl just to spread their ignorance takes alot of courage. don't listen to them, they don't understand, and they probably don't care to. thank you for all that you did for your country, regardless to how others feel about it. i was always told "opinions are like a-s-sholes, everyone has one, and most of them stink!!"
