Perhaps some companies make them like that with a short life so that we can buy more from them! Hehe.
It's always the same though, good job you can get replacement bulbs these days, though!
I would use it as an excuse to get a good new singing and dancing light set.
Merry Christmas

It's just bad luck ... I've had a set for over ten years which are still working DESPITE the yearly 'abuse' of putting them on the tree and then 'ripping' them off again in January (sorry to rub it in lol)

Usually if you're gentle, that won't happen. Like when your putting them on the tree or around your house, don't drop them or pull apart before you get them on. Roll them neatly around your hand when you take it off the tree or your house so that they won't burn out by next year.

Wonder that my self? Or why do they have to change the endings of it. RRRRRRRRRRRRRR It pisses me off that I can't use a wonderful set of lightenings that I used last year.
Remember why"It keeps them in business."

Because you do the same thing as me, take no care when ripping them down from the tree the previous year :-)
