Has your water ever been tested? Do you have city water, or well water? Is it a food odor? Is it a sulphur odor?
Also, foods the odors of foods in the fridge can affect ice cubes. I always keep an open box of baking soda in the fridge and freezer. Replace every 3 months.

I never liked ice from an ice maker. The water or ice never looks good. Kinda yellow, right?

You need to replace the water inlet filter if you have one. If you do not, you should install one and then clean the icemaker according to instructions.
