Best Final Fantasy Game? Why? Least Favorite? Why?

What do YOU think is the best Final Fantasy game and tell why. And also what do you think is the worst FF game? Why?

For me it's really a tie between VII and X...

I love 7 because it is really long and it will keep you busy for along time and also the characters are wonderful.

And I love 10 because the story is just really amazing and its brings you in. Also having the love story between Tidus and Yuna just makes the game more amazing. The characters, story, music...some of the best yet.

Now for my least favorite it would have to be 12. Just when I played it I didn't like it. Maybe I am an old school FF gamer and the new battle system just reminded me of CC on gamecube...I didn't like it. The random encounters is a Final Fantasy trademark. The only character I really feel in love with was Ashe...her design was amazing!

Also my other would have to be X-2...yeah it was a great addition to the story, but it just didn't flow right.

I totally agree...XII just didn't feel like a Final Fantasy game...I felt that in the first hour of playing it. Luckily It was my friends so I didn't have to waste 50 bucks.

Best - VIII

Summary why:
Tetsuya Nomura's greatest breakthrough his characters redefined Final Fantasy forever, here we first saw realistic characters. His influence resounds through the coolness of everything. Cool futuristic environments with a gritty wartime edge. It pushed the graphics of the playstation with some crazy CG, remember the first time you saw that ballroom dance or when you summoned Shiva.

Best moments:

MISSIONS!! BATTLE AGAINST GALBADIA!! TRAINS!! LAGUNA!! SEIFER!! LIBERI FATALI!! And there were some funny moments in the script!
Junctioning meant no need for typical 'mage', 'warrior', 'speed' characters! Lets admit VIII had the best limit breaks in a Final Fantasy yet - Lionheart took Omnislash and threw it into the dustbin!

What it did for FF:
Gave FF realism, Liberi Fatali - Nobuo Uematsu's first piece with vocals, SeeD levels alongside EXP level, Mo-capped cutscenes. GUNBLADES! Added a real-time element to turn based battles Trigger,trigger, etc. Female villain!

Worst - XII

Final Fantasy XII wasnt Final Fantasy, where were the deep characters the brimming adventure sharp-blades, charismatic heroes and escapist environments... Erm.. yeah dismal offline attempt at bringing more people into FFXI Online.

Finding out that GAME Stores Group does refunds.

Best Final Fantasy - FFX. I love the story, most of the characters (especially Yuna), and I also liked the romance between Yuna and Tidus. My 2nd favorite is FFVI. It manages to be wonderful despite the SNES graphics. The story is amazing.

Worst Final Fantasy - Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. This game was a joke, and an insult to all other FF games. If you haven't played it, you're lucky.

wowwww i feel the same way.
My favorites are tied between FF7, FF8, and FFX. its really hard to choose which is my favorite. FF9 was okay.

My least favorite is FF12. i didnt like FF12's story. it was stupid. no love story . no nothing. and the battle system just wasnt final fantasy. it didnt feel right lol. and the main character looked like a fag. he didnt look cool like Cloud or Squall. and i was really surprised when i found out that Larsa was a guy.....
so ya FF7, FF8, and FFX were the best !
