My mom's dachsund jumped on my belly. I am 24 weeks pregnant and was wondering if I should be worried. I was just in the hospital over the weekend because I was in a car accident and my uterus was bleeding slightly (5 ccs). The next day it was down to 3 ccs so they sent me home. I was having contractions when I was in the hospital and I am not now. I have felt the baby move since the dog jumped on my stomach and I called my doctor's after hours service and the doctor I talked to said that she wasn't worried unless I start having contractions. Maybe I just worry too much, but I just wanted some other opinions. Do you think that I should be worried? I would say that the dog weighs about 10 pounds maybe. It hurt when she jumped on me and for like 5 minutes after, but I feel ok now. Should I be worried? Has anyone else had this happen to them and everything was ok?

I don't think you need to worry unless your bleeding and cramping comes back. We have two dachshunds and they are considered a small dog, so the weight of one on your tummy should not cause any harm or trauma to the baby.

The reason it hurt is because you are more tender and sensitve there right now, but baby is well protected.

I own a dachshund and Im 38 weeks, I dont think they are big enough to do much harm on you. I wouldnt worry to much. Do what the doc says. Relax and if you start contracting call your doc back. I also have a lab hound mix and he is about 75 lbs and he tries to jump on my stomach all the time. Just be careful thats all. Good luck Im sorry about your accident. Hope all is okay.

Unless you are bleeding again or having cramping / contractions, then no, I would not worry. You're just fine. If either of those two things start happening, don't wait for the doc to call back, go to the hospital.

You should be fine. If I worried at all it would be beacause of the accident. With my pregnancy, I carried low and the first month I was showing, I stepped to close to the counter and banged my stomach hard. Also my tummy would grow so fast overnight that I would open the car or fridge door and it turned out that my stomach was bigger than last time and BANG... god that hurts. Also my daughter would run up to hug me and if I had grown she would bang us. That poor baby, lol. Anyway, he is 5 months and is pretty happy baby, lol

Your baby is protected while inside you. I have a 2 year old and he weighs 39 lbs and when I was pregnant with my daughter he jumped on my stomach all the time and she was born healthy and weighed 8lbs
