I know just enough to say that it was the inspiration I used to create a wire-frame, papier mache' sculpture of his figure, mounted on his horse, Rosiniante.(I think that's the spelling)

The angular figure and irregular body shapes lent themselves, well to the medium.

It wasn't a pro job. Just one of my many experiments in 3D.

Look, Picasso was Picasso. He was working in the modern style through most of his career. There was a few years when he called what he and Braque did Cubism, but that was a technique, developed with collage, of fracturing the surface of the picture and drawing objects (such as people) from multiple angles.

The Lithograph Don Quixote and Sancho shows his obsession with the power of marks and strokes, and it shows his pride in his Spanish Heritage and it shows his obsession with the imagery of his heritage.

If you want to call it anything besides good drawing, call it modernism. He is experimenting with the marks a crayon makes on a stone to give a feeling of the glorious old knight and his skeptical companion. Look at the Don's horse and Sancho's donkey (I've linked to a good image of it in sources). Notice he's drawn the inner contour of where the left hind leg of the horse leaves its torso, then left the rest blank with only that object hanging over it and the tail.

We don't need more Picasso's. He was sui generis. We do need more appreciation of him.

there is an apocryphal tale that Picasso instructed an interviewer that he became right into a mountbank merchandising trash to fools. If he did no longer say it, he would desire to have. Salvador Dali suggested Pablo Picasso became into adverse to artwork. As you notice, some people consider you. I do besides. some people who comprehend no longer something approximately artwork say Picasso became into super. How? If he had any skills for portray, he concealed it properly. As Dali suggested, the terrific artwork is from the Baroque era whilst adult males nonetheless knew a thank you to color. Jan Vermeer van Delft became into the terrific of all time in portray. Dali suggested so, and maximum artwork historians agree. The Impressionists began substituting eccentricity for creativity, and such adult males as Picasso carried it even extra suitable. nonetheless, Picaso is fairly earlier than Jackson Pollock. that's actually absurd.
