who is underrating westbrook? i thought everyone knew the eagles offense is revolved around him because he is an elite receiver as well as an elite runningback..if anyone thinks its revolved around mcnabb they are wrong, the eagles know how mcnabb is injury prone and has a tendency to choke and westbrook ALWAYS plays dinged up...every year, yet he is one of the most solid fantasy guys you can get...devin hester over rated? how is that possible when he hardly plays any offense and no defense (unless you consider special teams defense) yet he scores so many touch downs?? sure maybe his attitude sucks but i dont know how you can say enough about him...its sick watching him run back those kicks and punts...have you not heard people talking about just kicking away from him ALL THE TIME or just kicking the ball out of bounds and giving it to the bears at the 40??? thats a pretty huge impact on a football game...just my thoughts, good question tho..

I have to disagree about Hester being overrated. Barring injury, he'll deservingly go down in NFL history as the best return man of all time, unless someone better comes along soon (which isn't entirely unlikely, considering the large number of speed demons with good return instincts entering the NFL in recent years).
Plus, most people who follow the NFL know how beastly Brian Westbrook is, but casual fans don't know him since the Eagles aren't doing well lately.

The most overrated right now is Vince Young with Donovan McNabb right behind. Young hasn't even accomplished anything this early is his career and already people are talking him up like he the next Terry Bradshaw. He has got his team to the playoffs. He isn't even the best player on the team. The defense has carried that team with a lot of help from an effective running game. Young has a low completion percentage, and more interceptions than TD's. Also, he appears to have a hard time reading defenses. Yet the media and the fans have heaved on a pedastal by giving him magazine covers and video game covers. I say he needs to show me something before I start singing his name.
As for McNabb, he stunk in college and he stunk inthe pros. The only thing he could do in the Carrier Dome was run around and throw bombs. He never made to a big bowl and really never lead the orange to a top 25 ranking throughout the season. When he got to the pros, Reid kept the game plan simple and relied mostly on the defense to keep his team in the game. McNabb's one big season was when Terrell Owens was there to catch McNabb's bombs and miscues.
Most are going to say for both of these that they didn't have the talent at receiver, but if they are as great as the media and fans say, shouldn't they be making the talent around them better? Favre's best recevier he had was Antonio Freeman. He won the Super Bowl with this guy. He also made Dorsey Levens an All-Pro running back, who went to Philadelphia and stunk up the joint with McNabb as the QB.
Also, the same argument was used for Vick in Atlanta, but the last time I looked at Roddy White he was having a career year with Joey Harrington throwing the ball.
The fact is with Young and McNabb, the media, the shoe companies, and the fans have all tried so hard to find "the next big thing" that they jump on these young guys early and then are too stubborn to admit they were wrong when it doesn't pan out.
As for underrated, I would say that Marcus Washington never gets the credit he deserves althoug he makes all the right plays and has been one of the most consistent and talented at his position. He keeps the strong side of Washington's linebackers sealed up and also does the toehr stuff that most strong side linebackers have a hard time doing. He blitzes effectively from the strong side. He can match up against most tight ends in the league. He also plays the run pretty well. I have always said that Washington is the most talented player on that defense and he was also the most talented on the Colts defense when he was there. Yet he has never asked for the recognition and never holds court in the locker room with the media after a game.

Most overrated Warren Sapp
Most underrated Antoine Winfield. Who? That's what I mean. Best pound for pound player in the nfl. Weighs like 150 lbs but is the best tackler in the nfl.
