Denie: Thanks for pointing that out. I had no idea I was nearing level 5. When I get there, drinks for everyone, on me.

What movie have you seen and liked that had a psychiatrist in it? I don't know how to make the question any more easier to understand.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest for sure, my favourite scene would have to be at the end, when chief did the impossible and lifted the water fountain and threw it through the window.

I am pro Ordinary People, but it hits close to home.
I like the shrink in The Manchurian Candidate (1962, please). Interestingly he was black at a time when blacks were not cast as professionals. But it was just a casting decision, not a statement. I dug his flava.
When I was in college, I loved One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. As I get older, I favor Nurse Ratchett. Someone has to keep order and I would have been mad at McMurphy also.
Oh, the therapy scene in Annie Hall is a classic. It is a great piece of writing showing the conflicts between the two characters and is a good primer for beginning writers to see how to show points of view.
And let's not forget Spellbound... Ingrid Bergman digging Gregory Peck out of the hole courtest of Alfred Hitchcock and Salvador Dali.
I can't think of any more. Movies with shrinks... hmm...

I loved One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest.... Great movie!
I also love A Clockwork Orange, a classic... verry brilliant, but very crazy at the same time!
I also love the first scene in Cruel Intentions where Ryan Phillipee is in the shrinks office.... If you havent scene it you should, it makes me roll around on the floor with laughter every time!

I read One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest written by Ken Kensey, in 1965. I have always thought it to be one of thee best books I have ever read.
When the movie came out, I wondered if they would ruin the book, as they usually do, but it turned out to be one of the best movies of all time and won 5 or 6 Academy Awards.
They chose the perfect cast. Many of the best actor’s and actress’s turned down the part to play Nurse Ratchet, played by Louise Fletcher and McMurphy, played by Jack Nicholson (my favorite actor).
There are many scenes, but maybe the scenes when McMurphy is give shock treatments and eventually given a labotomy.
I still have the book but is important to read the book first.
I have looked for the book, Nell.
It was a wonderful movie. Nell was played by Jodie Foster and thought to be not quite right. Liam Neeson plays Dr. Lovell who teaches her and works with her hoping to save her from being placed in an institution.
There is a beautiful scene when she is sort of dancing in the nude, over the water, in the moon light while the Dr. is watching.
The Movie was another of my favorites. (Heart rendering to say the least)
Good question. Thanks

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
I remember going to see it in the theater when it first came out and crying when the Chief smothered Mac.
I have it on DVD - now you've made me want to watch it again, so I guess I'll do that sometime today

I would say Sybil was by far the best. (VERY tough to watch but a wonderful movie!) But out of the ones that you listed, I'd pick One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest.
