Negative views are taught at an early age, we over hear the adults talking and it slowly works into our lifes, then when we see how it hurts people we should hopefully change ourselves and try to change those around us. Only by standing up for what is right even around our own can we make real change. Its hard to stand against family and friends but if you want to make real change that is what it takes.

Yes, I have had negative views on other people and other places before in my life. Disagreeing with one person is the main reason, why I would have a negative view of that person. If I was to have a negative view of a place, that meant I just didn't like the place for some reason.

Well I went to college and was thinking how ignorant and so uneducated the factory people are. Then I decided to see the life of them and how they accomplish their goals and everyday tasks. I lost my disdain for the factory worker, and acquired a new found respect. For these people run themselves into the ground while using their most intelligent minds, a waste of course, but never the less, there still are many many very intelligent people working in factories and making it all happen. For so very low pay, with little to no benefits. They are so ingenious and talented. The rich keep getting richer and the poor keep staying poor. The factory workers are what I use to view as a negative until I lived the lives that they did and do. You have gotta experience it to actualize the true essence of their existence.

In highschool I thought being gay was horrible and disgusting, OK lets just admit it the entire thing of sex is just disgusting but accepted, the more crucial part of this is the acceptance part obviously.

Because I didn't accept gays I held a prejudice against them. After becoming friends with a gay person I understood him and accepted him as well as gays in general as part of my life.

I think people usually hold prejudices because of either a bad experience with a certain person or just generally their viewpoints on ideas, the way to overcome prejudice against certain people or places is go meet them or go to that place, and understand them, if this experience is bad however and every person you meet from this group seems to hold the characteristics that you dislike than you will ultimately hold prejudice against this group or place.

Which is fine as long as this group's characteristics don't lead to law breaking actions, however if they do than something must be done. ;|
