I do both. But Sunday's paper just isn't the same online. Plus, I need to have my crossword puzzle and coupons out of the paper. Also, I like to clip articles and sent them to people that have moved away. But I love getting the local sports scores right away on the online newspaper.

I get a news feed into my email box several times a day with
updates and new news topics online. Only occasionally do I go to the papers' website to check out other things. I rarely
have the time to scan much more than the main news for
our location, which also has the national news topics as well.
Most of those I merely glance at and try to find something
a little less dreary to read. I have a friend, who never goes
beyond the "Living" section. She doesn't like reading the
trauma laden news anymore. And frankly I can't much blame
her. I think the gossip & advice columns and the comics are
the only entertaining sections to read anymore. I think I have
enough depression in my normal life, than to increase it more
with international news. It seems that alot of that news is sensationalized and maybe we don't need to see
all of the horrors of war or anything telling us of killings and
robberies at gunpoint. I think I liked the news before it became too graphic. And showed us pictures we didn't need
to see, to understand the circumstances of any given article
related to negative news.
There's a news site for good news that I was led to one
day. It's happynews.com. And that is an entertaining news
site with some things' to make you smile, and not frown. I
need to check it more often for an uplift, as I usually don't
get that from the regular newspapers for our location. You
might check it out, when you want to see something to
make you feel a little better, now and then.

Our local newspaper is the worst in the USA for a big city. I only read it at work and then only for 5 or 10 minutes. I like to read the Funnies, especially Dilbert. Gannet owns our local paper so USA Today and our local paper are carbon copies of each other. I almost never read USA Today anymore. About 4 days a week I scan the Wall Street Urinal. I like the Investor's Business Daily but only see it once or twice a month. I seldom read the news online. I mostly watch local tv news. In my building people tell each other of major news stories all day long. One of my buddies as CNN on all day in his store so I get glimpses of that. I'll tell you the truth: there is nothing new under the sun and to read the newspapers everyday is depressing because they are all about crime and disaster and human suffering.

No,one of my little pleasures is having my iced tea on the deck on summer mornings, with my newspaper, and in my sunroom with my coffee in the winter and a cat on my lap. It is my relaxation that starts off my day, and once I have read my paper, I am ready to go on to other things. If I can't do it, my whole day is off. Am I set in my ways or something? GAAAAH

No - I 'get' my news online - none local, all world/national. . .
The only reason I look at the 'rag' news online, is to read the obits - from all over the country . . . then enter some of them at Find A Grave website. . .
