kind of random question but I was reading something about euthnasia and Terri Sciavo and I was wondering why the Terri Schiavo case got much more attention than other cases that are very much like it?

I believe it was because her husband started another family during her coma and her husbands wishes were different from her parents. He claimed she told him that she wouldnt want to be kept alive in that situation but her parents disagreed.

Because there were many indications that Terri was not in a vegetative state, let alone brain dead, yet the court refused to look at this. And also because Terri's parents wanted to care for themselves; but her legal husband, who was living with another woman with whom he had 2 children, insisted on having Terri killed.
And besides that, though this may not be relevant to the legal decision, there is evidence that Terri's husband actually assaulted her and injured her, resulting in the brain damage that she suffered, and because of which the court ordered her to be killed.
